Postnatal Pains

I had a baby about four months ago and I am still very tender where my stitches are. About how long does this tenderness last? Also, since having had my son, I have had very bad backaches. Is this normal?

Oh my, as if getting up three times a night for feedings and changes weren't enough of a physical stress after birth! Both problems are not unusual after birth, but are not completely normal. You should inform your doctor to determine the exact cause and to get you started on some treatment and/or relief.
